I am a multidisciplinary artist specializing in painting, drawing, printmaking, and metal sculpture. My work focuses on the unique and unified experiences of the contemporary American, specifically the psychological changes with political and social climate shifts. The resulting work is raw and experimental as the emotional response coming from a finished piece is valued more than the refinement.
Larger than life, displaying strange uses of uncommon materials, and more often than not using my hands as the tool to apply mediums, each work employs an important element of physical labor that is evident in the resulting piece. My subjects are very gestural, charged with blues, reds, and their complements to display emotional tension rather than a realistic composition. To connect viewers by way of acknowledging mental states of mind with a blatant and chaotic composition has always been my aim, as I believe that we are more uniformly alike with our neighbors than what may seem.
